Saving the Inch Church Hall

Taking on developers

A plan to demolish the church in Dinmont Drive has just been re-submitted to the Council. It is identical to the plan from the same developer submitted in February this year.

Opposition led by the Inch Community Association and Councillor Ian Murray and Nigel Griffiths MP, forced the developer to withdraw the original plan in April.

But now he is proposing to go ahead with the demolition of the church and build 18 flats on this site. Community leaders Jeanette Mulgrew and Alan Merriman have been campaigning against these plans for over 6 months.

Ian Murray is circulating a petition round local residents and he went door-to-door with Nigel Griffiths MP collecting signatures against the development.

Cllr Murray will present the petitions to the Liberal Democrat councillor who chairs the Planning Committee.
