The night service for the No 18 bus was resumed in August, and the Sunday service is also being restored. This bus is a vital link, cutting across from Frogston Road  the new Royal Infirmary at Little France. Nigel Griffiths applauded the council for agreeing to fund the service and is encouraging local residents to use it. He said: "Future subsidies from the council may depend on how well this route is used, but I see this as a vital public service."
